I've never met a half American. I thought that you were either American or not, since American is a nationality, rather than an ethnicity.

I'm half Japanese, half German and 100% American.

Ya, born and raised in Norcal. Lived in Asia, Europe but from here and I'd say there are few other places better to live for a hapa. In my own experience you need to ensure that you have a place with enough diversity where you don't feel like a total outcast and here's definitely a place that has no limits for diversity.
