Although it seems hapa quality is on a downward slope with the increasing hapa population, there surely still are a lot of good-looking hapa girls.

For every 100 Japanese girls, maybe I will find 2-10 rather attractive vs. for every 100 hapa girls I'll probably find 30-60 rather, very or extremely attractive.

-shrug- I've dated a hapa. Blasian hapa, but hapa all the same. I've been INTERESTED in other hapas and even gone on a date or two, but only embarked on a relationship with the one.

Well, the one that was married was really nice actually -- but not in a 'I'm stepping over my limit' sort of way. The 2 that I didn't click with were not 'too gangster/too nerd'; one of them was the brother of this girl who was friends w/a bunch of my friends. I was actually closer to him than I was with his sister, though 'close' would be an extreme. We were acquaintances. He was more on the nerdy side I'd say, but not really a nerd..whatever that means lol. I mean, I'd consider myself to be nerdy b/c I love video games, reading, writing, so forth. The other one (of the 2) was half Vietnamese and half Romanian so that intrigued me b/c I had never met any other half Vietnamese people, much less half Romanian, half asian. He was friendly but he wasn't physically my type and in general, he was way too laid back. I mean, he didn't care about anything..and I like people that are mellow but still have aspirations, ya know? Anyway, the German/Chinese guy approached me b/c he wanted to know what ethnicity I was and then after speaking for a bit, I told him I was from Hayward and he said he had lived in Fremont for a bit (those cities are both in the Bay area in case you were wondering). He was a sweet guy and very good-looking, but that was that. I think he had a gf who was full asian (it was either Korean or Chinese, I think).

I've never dated a hapa though.

I don't know if I'd call them "racist" per se, but there's definitely a keen awareness of the differences between all the people who live there. I think the haoles are marginalized to a greater degree than most (particularly if you are of "Portagee" heritage).

I remember going back one summer and it was during Aloha Week, and hearing a comedian just RAG on the tourists. Then I thought, man, I've been in California too long! This shit never used to bother me. But it really is a study in racism and perception. I'm not sure if it's over-PC'd on the mainland or under-PC'd in the islands.

But there is definitely a very different vibe in Hawaii among the locals -- I know exactly the attitude you are talking about, Sage.

No, what's happening is the hapa population is getting worse b/c less and less attractive people of different background are inter dating. In the past it was harder for people of different backgrounds to be attracted to each other so they tended to be above average looking and thus ended up having better-looking hapa kids than a fair number you see around today.

For those moving to Hawaii-Some of the asians in Hawaii (MOSTLY the Philipinos girls) think they are actually Hawaiian all of a sudden. I met some Philipino girls that just moved to Hawaii when they were little and think they are Hawaiian. Some Chinese Hawaiians with alot of Chinese lettering jewery on and Philipino girls would try to act like they were better than me because I was raised in Cali eventhough I looked like them and my familys kitchen cupboard had the same asian food items as theres and these girls eat more rice than I do. I met some very kind asian and asian/mix locals too but alot of the Philipinos there are so uneducated and are wanna-be Hawaiians. They have no idea that all your south east asian coutries are pretty much culturely the same. One Philipino guy actually told me that Japanese raised in mainland and Japanese in Hawaii are different and the Japanese in Hawaii are better??I love Philipinos and had a great time working with alot of them in Cali, so I was shocked at the Philipino girls " I'm a better asian than you attitude". I'm not the only mainland asian that has encountered this while living there and I'm not even white. So be warned because there is that crazy uneducated mentality element there. I had one Pure ActuaHawaiian family guy that treated me better and had traveled to Thailand with his Aloha dance troupe many times and liked our sarongs. I grew up with Samoans who say that they are asian and I could not believe the ??? asian against asian and against mainlaind hapa racism??? in Hawaii. Thats like some of your blacks that don't like their own darker black people. Crazy wtf fcuked up sh*t...

Yeah, that's why you don't hear me advocating so much anymore that you mainland hapaz (even those from Cali) move to Hawaii. For one, you might go through what you just described there and two, I might get my ass kicked by some local Asian mafiosos for telling "too many" of you guys to come here, and three that's why I don't post as much on here because I have a feeling some of the local Asian mafiosos are pissed off at me. I need to respect and follow the OG rules ascribed by them. On the other hand, they might rather have some hapa and Asian peeps move here than haoles, esp. if you're a female. PEACE
